Bert Edwards is a Public Sector Technical Advisor to SB & Company, LLC (SBC) and has spent over 45 years in public accounting. Bert was Arthur Andersen, LLP's (Andersen) partner in charge of its State and Local Government and Not-for-Profit practices. In July 2001, Mr. Edwards joined Interior’s Office of the Secretary to develop and implement a plan to provide a historical accounting for an estimated 350,000 individual Indian trust accountholders and 1,450 Tribal accounts.

He has conducted numerous public sector projects. Among his clients were Newport News Shipbuilding, Smithfield Foods and Ringling Bros. Circus in the private sector, and the District of Columbia, States of SC, PA, VA, and AZ, Counties of Arlington, Prince William, Loudoun, and Stafford, Cities of College Park, Rockville, and Fairfax, Prince Georges Public Schools, John F. Kennedy Center, U. S. Holocaust Museum, American, Gallaudet, and Marymount Universities, and Prince Georges and Anne Arundel Community Colleges.

His best known engagement was the first-ever audits of the District of Columbia and its component units (University of DC, Lottery, Stadium/Armory Complex, DC Public Schools, and Convention Center) during 1979-83. Bert is a frequent speaker on government related topics.
